A group of South Florida food bloggers connected over some mouth watering dishes, an Instagram growth session and networking.

We were treated to Sproutz, a restaurant that creates a health-conscious community by education and delicious delights. The best way to educate is through food; Sproutz provides fresh and delectable dishes that are full of natural benefits, flavors and nutrients.

There’s something for everyone to love and all of our foodies that attended had happy tummies and indulged in instagram worthy food (scroll down to see for yourself-and try not to drool too much). Craft & Common has become an instant favorite for locals, and it has become a must have stop for tourists visiting downtown Orlando. Their menu has been revamped with an assortment of tasty items and treats like truffled popcorn, smoked salmon toast, and a cheese sampler, just to name a few. They have added new drinks, but they still have their specialty coffees like their painkiller.  The painkiller is a cold brew float with vanilla ice cream, cream of coconut, orange and nutmeg 🤤  If you’re a foodie like me and enjoy reading menus, check out their full menu here.

Let’s talk about the feels. I love the vibe, and the interior design is straight out of an Instagram Top Ten Cafe list. It’s bright, spacious and filled with succulents and potted plants defying gravity as they hang off walls and breathe some fresh 02 into your ozone. You can sip your coffee and get a shot of creativity amidst warm lights and decor that’s sure to make you more productive too. Before you get lost in the pics, share your favorite coffee shop(s) in the comments below.

Searching for an authentic Turkish restaurant in Orlando?

Cafe 34 Istanbul has mouth-watering kebobs, Turkish coffee/tea,  authentic Turkish desserts, hookah, and the crowd is lit on most occasions (def can’t find a husband here—sorry girls). They have two sections: one is a restaurant and the other has music, dim lights and is pretty much the fun side.  You guessed it, we sat at the restaurant section because we came with baby.

I always make a stop at Cafe 34 Istanbul whenever I’m visiting my in laws  (always a good time with my husband’s cousins), and I finally decided to review my experience.

Food review

We started off the night with falafel and hummus that came with pita bread.  The hummus was creamy and had enough salt—just the way hummus should be.  The falafel came with a yogurt dipping sauce that complemented the crunchy falafel with a nice touch of saucy softness.  Next, I had my chicken adana kebob entree that came with a side of white rice.  Their chicken adana kebob is ground chicken thigh mixed with red bell pepper, garlic, parsley, and spices cooked on skewers. The kebob came with a side of seasoned white rice.  If you’re from up North, then maybe you’re spoiled by the white sauce that’s a staple in Middle Eastern restaurants.  Florida DOES NOT have that! Well, this kebob didn’t need the white sauce or added hot sauce; it was simply delicious.

Last course of the meal was certainly the best: kunefe! Kunefe is a thin noodle like pastry made from semolina dough and layered expertly. Your tastebuds are in for a treat because it doesn’t stop there.  Inside is melted cheese topped with crunchy pistachio clusters and drizzled with syrup.  The flavors swirling around the  fresh, warm cheese were amazing!  It was the closest to the ones we tasted in Turkey.

To top this feast with an authentic Turkish experience,  we got the mint apple tea which is perfect to have a conversation over. Sadly, there wasn’t much conversation, since my daughter couldn’t resist the lights and music of the lounge side and we had to vacate the premises 😹

Last on the list is this meat lovers heaven! They have burgers, steaks, meatballs, lamb and other endless food items.We started off Art Basel here last year and experienced great service and enjoyed our food.  I was the the only meat eater so I got myself the burger and definitely don’t miss their baklava dessert.  It’s a homemade dessert stuffed with fresh ice cream that’s made in house daily.

12. Disposable plates, napkins, cutlery, and a carving knife is a must

14. Herbs like sage, rosemary, basil, parsley, cilantro, chives and etc
15. Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream to serve over desserts

17. Nuts such as pecans, walnuts or almonds to dress up any dish
18. Milk, heavy cream, sour cream or non-diary cream (I like Nutpods—original flavor)
19. Ice (Especially if you live in a warmer climate like Miami)
20. Games! Not a food item but always a fun time playing with family & friends (ahem, catan)

Looking for a delicious sushi restaurant in New York?

The baby daddy and I spent our anniversary in NYC where we went to Koi.  The restaurant may be a little hard to find since it’s located inside the Bryant Park Hotel and there is no actual sign outside of the building.  As usual, we were running late but the hostess was super nice and still seated us (it wasn’t packed since it was a Monday night)

We started off with the Koi crispy rice topped with spicy tuna. The rice cake wasn’t overly cooked and the spicy tuna had a nice kick to it.  The shrimp tempura roll was standard. I got the boss baby noodles that the waiter recommended, and baby loved them (this was an off the menu dish since I didn’t see this on the menu). The hubs got his vegetarian sushi (I know, sooo boring but he enjoyed it and I had a piece as well; it was fresh and I felt so healthy eating that 😆).

Ok let’s talk about my favorite part, the dessert!  We got the sundae which was vanilla & chocolate ice cream, a warm brownie, nut crumbles, bananas and topped off with a bitter sweet caramel drizzle.  They give melted chocolate on the side in a little jar so you already know I went crazy with that  😹 They also gave us the dessert on the house so we were super happy about that!

I’ve had tons of gelato, especially being from New Yawkk, and this one has tons and tons of amazing flavors to choose from. They also let you sample as many as you want (man I go overboard and try at least 10 each time 😂). My favorite combination is their Cannolo and Settemezzo. Cannolo tastes like the inside of a creamy delicious cannoli, and setteemezzo is hazelnut with crunchies and it tastes like a mix of nutella and ferrero rocher. Oh goodness can you feel the combination in your mouth 🤤 They also have espresso, coffee, cannolis, gelato sandwiches and etc.
